Augmented Reality / LBS
The use of mobile augmented reality and location based services can be a terrific way to provide a better user experience. Location based services in their most simplistic form are providing information to users in context of their geographical location. This is not possible with other platforms such as desktop computers, thus mobile platforms present huge opportunities to engage users with content, offers and communications relevant to where they are. Augmented Reality takes this one step further and uses a combination of the smartphone's camera, GPS and compass to allow a user to hold their smartphone up and "look at" the outside world through their screen. Their reality is then "augmented" by overlaying contextual data on top of the camera feed.
